Private One to One Art Lessons are Very Popular
I have been teaching private one to one classes for a few years now. It has been a hugely successful opportunity to further a person's goal in their art career. I am available for these one to one very private lessons again in 2015 in my farm home studio in Cashiers, NC and also in urban Asheville, NC. I have two studios in NC for convenience in teaching. I have also taught in the student's home studio as well, but it is unusual to be asked to do that. I welcome students in need of this exclusive opportunity to call me at 828/226-4024 for a discussion geared toward moving ahead in this sometimes scary path of art. What is learned that it is not scary at all if there is a pattern of work ethics that are necessary and very do-able with coaching. Due to the success of "privates," I now have to limit my husband's and my availability. Chris does the cooking for an overnight stay that are part of the price structure. The entire day and night is dedicated to the students comfort while learning and growing. Their accommodations are near the studio so they can be inspired late at night or early in the morning. I often take coffee to them in the studio as they are up and going with enthusiasm. I thought excitedly when I was encouraged by a select few at first, that if I had had this opportunity as a young fledgling artist, at any price, what I could have accomplished early in my career? Without structure to my goals, it was a hard bumpy road. I did it the hard way and know the bumps and elevations to a higher self as an artist. I have done many styles, tried many mediums, and know a lot about all of it to help make goals and see what the student's strong suit is toward making a style evolve.
Chris and I not only make wonderful friends, we continue with their experience for years toward a life of good decisions with art. I, as the teacher gain so much from the students and enjoy their journey. What I give comes back to me in abundance and what the students gain is often a confidence and path that they embark on with joy. There are more details on www.karenweihs.com/workshops.

Here are some other opportunities for 2015 to enjoy:

Here are two testimonies to the advantage of having a One to One Teaching/Private Lesson from a experienced artist and teacher.
Testimony by Amanda Hughes, 12/29/2013:
During the summer, I had the pleasure of having art lessons taught by Karen Weihs over a span of three days in Cashiers, NC. It was something my grandmother, Agnes Morrison, got me interested in and funded, as she saw great potential in my art and wanted me to have the opportunity to learn more through professional guidance. I was not sure what to expect when I arrived there, but what came out of the experience was a new, budding passion for oil painting. The different techniques Ms. Weihs taught me- whether with the strokes of a brush or the carving and spreading of a palette knife- were incredible, bringing about many different textures and much life to the painting. In fact, in the first exercise, she told me to experiment by “pushing and pulling” the paint to discover new textures and find hidden color within the paint. When I thought I had completed my piece, she encouraged me to go deeper and push the color strokes even more, add more color, and let it grow. As I continued, the painting began to mature and develop. I became a bit emotional; it was like watching a child grow and become even more beautiful with each stroke. To this day, it is my favorite painting that I have completed, and I thank Mrs. Weihs for encouraging me to go deeper, push farther, and show the potential within the paint. Talent truly is a God-given gift, but without people to encourage us along the way, these talents may be stifled, not having enough gumption to persevere, and thus cause talent not to see the light of day to show the world what is truly beautiful. Again, I thank Karen Weihs for her expertise and guidance in this memorable trip; this is the start of a beautiful new way to express this creative energy.

Sims Waczholtz:
I had the unique opportunity to spend a week with Karen on her farm in North Carolina, the perfect setting for me to escape the demands of everyday life and have Karen mentor me while I focused on my painting. Our time together surpassed all expectations, as she helped me dig deeper into myself and explore areas of creativity and passion for painting I didn't truly know existed. Having the one-on-one time with Karen both in front of the canvas during the day, and at night over the dinner table, helped me venture further down my path as an artist, and continue along my journey of discovering who I wanted to be as a painter. Thank you Karen!
